The UCC Filings allows users to search Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) records filed in various U.S. States to reveal any other individuals or entities that have filed a lien against collateral pledged on a loan.
After conducting the initial UCC Search, additional details may also retrieved for any matched record and UCC Report.
What it does:
Information returned on the UCC Filings may include:
- Debtor name and address
- Filing State
- Filing date
- Original filing date and number
- Document number
- Legal type
- Secured Parties*
- Debtor Parties*
- Secured Party’s name
- Secured Party’s Address
- Filings
- Collateral
*Search returns only a count. Individual items are only available in the full UCC filing’s report.
What it is used for:
UCC Filings data is useful for verifying collateral assets for loan originations. In addition because debtors often have liens through commercial institutions, UCC Filings can be helpful for skip tracing purposes as well.
